After several weekend trips (and the every other weekend commute to LA to visit my boyfriend) I discovered my love for mini weekend getaways. My friends at Evite, along with the ever so amazing Sally Hansen, have put together the perfect list of weekend getaway essentials! I figured I'd put their list to the test this last weekend so I could share a few of my favorites from their line up with you as well!
I can't wait to try this one out! It's a 2 in 1 bronzer and self tanning lotion that gives you that airbrushed look, but naturally! The best part is, it's waterproof! I have used their Airbrush Legs aerosol spray that is AMAZING, so I can't wait to give this one a whirl. Sally Hansen tanning products have always given me confidence to use them before the beach without worrying that they will be dripping off as I walk out of the water haha.
2. A Summer Romper or Dress
Next up on their getaway essentials list is a summery dress or romper. Like most of you, I am romper obsessed! I try my hardest to pack light on weekend trips, so I usually bring a colorful maxi dress/romper and a plain neutral or black one so that I can mix and match different jackets or jewelry pieces to make it feel like a different outfit (even if its been worn on the trip already;-)
3. The Perfect Pair of Sunnies
There really isn't anything worse than getting to a sunny destination and realizing you don't have your sunglasses!
4. Beach Bag or Phone Case and Wallet in One
I totally agree with Evite that if you're the type of packer who needs 15 different items for the beach
(I may be like that at times... ;-) you should totally pack a beach bag like this one for your trip. If you like to travel light then check out these adorable phone cases with a stylish built in picket to hold your ID and credit cards.
5. Bikini Top and Bottom
Don't be intimidated to pack that itsy bitsy bikini! Tanner bodies always look skinnier than pale pasty ones ;) I ALWAYS use a self tanner before I leave for a trip where I will be strutting around in a bikini. If you pack your bikini just don't forget your Airbrush Sun!
6. Sandals or Wedges...or Both!
One of the last things on Evite's list was a pair of your favorite sandals. I always want to make sure I pack comfortable shoes for my mini weekend getaways. I will admit I am fully obsessed with my faux Birkenstocks... to all the haters out there, they have made a comeback and you should really give them a try ;-) I also love having a comfy pair of wedges on hand in the event that a night on the town spontaneously happens.
